Tuesday August 13th Meet
and Greet / Kissing Hand
7:50 – 8:30 Bell Work: SWBAT work on a coloring sheet while
other students are arriving. Help students put their things away.
8:30 – 9:30 Circle
Time: Meet and greet; Toss a bean bag to students to
introduce themselves and tell something about themselves.
Go over calendar,
Recite a nursery rhyme,
Sing the alphabet song,
Discuss the alphabet, go over the
alphabet cards.
Read Monkey’s Not Ready for
Kindergarten, discuss school and being in school.
Take a bathroom break and tour the
school.
9:30-10:00 Computer Lab: SW go to the computer lab TW talk
about the rules in the computer lab.
10:00 – 11:15 Circle
Time: Read the Kissing Hand
Read the story as you read make a
story arc, discuss vocabulary words
Students complete a Kissing Hand worksheet,
make a hand print, and a raccoon crown.
11:15 – 11:30 clean up and get ready for lunch.
11:30-12:10 students will go to lunch.
12:15 – 1:00 Math Circle Time
Read a counting book
Review numbers 0-5
Review colors and shapes
Practice counting 0-10
Students complete a math worksheet
1:00-2:00 Interventions: TTW put the students in groups and
model how to rotate for interventions.
2:05-2:15: TTW
prepare the bus students to go on the bus.
2:00-2:30: TTW end the first day of school by reading a story.
2:30-2:40: Prepare students to go home and dismiss students.
